MOT-BARKO Manila Inc. and Travel Cue Management have joined forces to tackle coastal pollution head-on. This initiative goes beyond simply addressing marine debris; it aims to ignite a spirit of collective responsibility and action for a healthier coast.
A shared commitment to Sustainable Development Goals sparked the partnership. The core of the initiative is a comprehensive volunteer program engaging employees from both companies. In collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the program kicked off on May 10 at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park.
The collaboration wasn’t just about hands-on cleanup. It also included an educational component. Volunteers attended workshops, including an awareness campaign led by an Ecosystem Management Specialist. These workshops fostered a deeper understanding of the current issue and its impact on our environment.
“Our commitment to becoming a carbon-neutral company compels us to contribute to a better environment,” said Pauline Cala-or, client partnership manager at Travel Cue Management Philippines.
“By working together, we can significantly amplify our impact in safeguarding the health of our coastlines for future generations,” echoed Capt. Miyajima, representative of Mitsubishi Ore Transport Co. Ltd. at MOT-Barko Manila Inc.
