MOT-Barko manila, Inc. (MBM) was established to fulfill the manning requirements exclusively of Mitsubishi Ore Transport Co., Ltd. (MOT), by playing a central role in a dynamic system of communication, coordination, training and support between seafarers and principal MOT. Through the very important briefing/debriefing process, exchange of information and learning is facilitated between MOT and seafarers on shipboard problems/difficulties, updated charter party and other regulatory requirements and developments. MBM hopes to maintain all its competent, prudent and loyal seafarers who will stay with MBM and work exclusively for and onboard MOT ships; and thus create a winning team of Seafarers, MBM and MOT bound in beneficial and lasting relationships.

23 SEP 2010 – Registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as “MOT-BARKO MANILA, INC.”

10 NOV 2010 – Started operations as a duly organized, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA)-licensed manning agency at its home in 2A-2F Ma. Daniel Bldg., 470 San Andres, cor. M. H. Del Pilar Sts. Malate, 1004 Manila, Philippines, serving its first vessel, M/V KING COAL, owned by Compania Flor de Vapores, S.A.
Achieved membership with the Overseas Placement Association of the Philippines (OPAP).
02 MAR 2011 – Received POEA’s approval to conduct ISPS/Ship Security Awareness to crew.
05 JULY 2011 – Accredited Mitsubishi Ore Transport Co., Ltd. (MOT) as second principal with the POEA and thereafter manned its vessels – M/V NORD LUNA, MV SANTA LUCIA, M/V NORD MERCURY, M/V TORM PACIFIC and M/V PALMA BULKER.
17 MAR 2011 – Received U.S. Embassy accreditation as manning agency.
11 JULY 2011 – Received POEA full-term license.
15 NOV 2011 – Achieved membership with the Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council, Inc.
09 JAN 2012 – Received Overseas Workers Welfare Administration’s (OWWA) approval as Sea-based Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) provider.
End of 2012 – Manned a total of 20 ships (2 from Compania Flor S.A. and 18 from MOT).
25 NOV 2013 – Received Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) accreditation as manning/crewing agency.
16 DEC 2013 – Received ISO 9001:2008 certification from ClassNK.
02 JAN 2014 – With the transfer of 2 vessels of Compania Flor de Vapores S.A. to MOT, MOT became MBM’s sole principal.
28 OCT 2014 – Received renewed POEA license/MLC compliance.
08 SEP 2015 – Received Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Certificate of Compliance.
04 DEC 2018 – Move to 3F Solemil Bldg. 1248 J. Bocobo St. Ermita Manila.
19 DEC 2019 – Received ISO 9001:2015 certification from ClassNK.
